The FontShop 2006 Calendar

Last year’s FontFont calendar was so popular, we’re doing another. Like before, each month presents one of our favorite typefaces. But this time, other foundries in the FontShop family are represented.

Now for the twist: we’ll be releasing each month one at a time. Why? It’s a great way to see what’s new at FontShop as the year progresses. But also, each month contains a clue for the typeface featured in the month to fullow. Within the days of January, you’ll find a detail close-up of February’s font. Put your identification skills to the test and guess what’s coming next. Or simply admire the beauty and craft of good type design.

Update: Each month’s calendar will be announced in the FontShop newsletter. Add your name to the emailing list to get the calendars as soon as they are released. If you are sure you are subscribed but aren’t getting the newsletters, check your spam box. You may need to add “news@fontshop.com” to your address book so our emails don’t get tossed in the same bin as Viagra ads.

This calendar is such an amazing desktop wall paper and I’m completely addicted to it! I’m wondering when August is going to be available so I can update it! Congratulations.

Glad to feed your addiction, Marcia. August is up.

I like the calender-idea and sure will encourage friends to give this one for the year-around way to Christmas. Yet the design is slightly kitch and doesn’t fit the whole typography-feeling.
Yet again, it is a matter of taste.

Now that you’ve got us addicted to the calendar, you should continue for 2007! My poor desktop still thinks it’s December 2006.

Will you be creating a 2007 Font Shop calendar? I love your desktop wallpapers and I’m still using your Dec ‘06, and hoping for a new set for ‘07…

Posted by Sling on Jan. 8, 2007

Hi Liane and Sling. I’m glad you enjoyed our calendar. We don’t have plans for a calendar this year, but that could change if there is enough popular support. Stay tuned to the FontFeed.

Will my desktop remain Dec 06 forever? I loved your calendars—some months more than others. If i didn’t care for the look, I made my own, but always checked the site at the beginning of the month to see the calendar option and what else might be new.

My desktop too is still stuck in Dec 2006…I keep checking back to see when the 2007 will be out. It saddens me that there is consideration of not continuing the font calendar for 2007 (I’m a fan of the calendars since 2005-i still have October of 05 up in my office!) Well, i hope it works out…

I’d like the FontShop calender on my desktop also in 2007. And 2008. And 2009. Maybe 2010 too…

Please!
