Post TypeCon2009 – SEED Awards Videos
Presented by the Atlanta Chapter of AIGA, the SEED Awards are the premiere design competition in the Southeast, recognising the top creative work in the region. This year the gala – which took place at Mason Murer Fine Art – coincided with TypeCon2009 – Rhythm. The gala celebrated this year’s winners and featured a “gallery-style” display of their work, in addition to an audio-visual showcase, food and drinks. The videos were posted on Vimeo just recently. Enjoy.
And for the type geeks – the logo and videos use various weights and widths of Interstate, with “awards 09″ in the logo set in Filosofia‘s beguiling italic.

What is the slab serif used for the sundance stuff? at first i thought maybe Apex Serif, but it does not appear to be that. any pointers would be great!

You mean the very wide one? That’s the classic Hellenic Wide, also digitised as 58 Rodeo for Baseline. More wide slab serif wood type designs can be found in this list.
ah, in the Motion video at 00:39 have they flipped the W to make an M? that is what was throwing me off :-)
