FontCast #8 — Crystian Cruz
After years of working as a magazine art director in Brazil, Crystian Cruz took a hiatus to the UK’s University of Reading where he developed his ideas for typeface design. He returned to start an editorial design consultancy, armed with expertise in both sides of typography: type creation and type use. Excellent interview. Mr. Cruz is definitely a man with revolutionary ideas.
Cool stuff – now I’ll need to research more of Crystian’s work :-)
I find the music in the background (rather: foreground) much too loud and very annoying.
Very nice interview again. I watched Dyana’s interview last week, and this one is again a great view into how these artists approach their work – very interesting! I agree with Tim’s post above, the music could be toned down about 20% so it doesn’t distract from the interview.
Keep up the interviews, these are great!
It’s great to learn about a type designer whom I have little familiarity.
Probably because as an American we don’t pay attention to anyone, but ourselves.
